Whitney Houstons stepmother is suing her

Whitney Houston is being sued by her stepmother, Barbara Houston, over money she claims is due her after the death of Whitney’s father. John Houston died at 81 in 2003, amidst a lawsuit against Whitney by family friend and president of John Houston Enterprises, Kevin Skinner. Despite the lawsuit, which Whitney’s people say her father had no part of, Whitney was the beneficiary of John’s insurance policy when he passed away.
Barbara Houston, John’s wife after divorcing Whitney’s mother, Cissy, claims that some of that money was supposed to go to her to pay off the mortgage on John’s apartment. The $1 million policy was paid out to Whitney and none of it has gone toward the things Barbara is claiming it was meant to pay off.
Whitney Houston is reportedly being sued by her step-mother for the remaining proceeds of her late father’s $1 million life insurance policy.
Barbara’s lawsuit claims she was supposed to get the remaining proceeds as well as the title to the property, and that Whitney has yet to give her either one.

Oh, Barbara, that money is long ago up a nose, in a vein or swallowed in pill form. This would explain the Whitney/Bobby Brown reconcilliation rumblings, because with those come the possibility of another show, and another paycheck. Whitney has been working on another album for a while now, but there isn’t a set release date. Clearly, and unfortunately, the only way Barbara Houston is going to see any of the money she says was earmarked for John Houston’s debts is through the court.
